Deepest Fear!!

Whenever I remember this line orcome across it, I feel the suddenness of it. So true its written, many times wecome across a situation, where we lye low so others don’t feel insecure from usrather than giving over full potential, we just do things for the sake of doingit so no one see us as a competition!!

I have always been thinking onsame line, I was shrinking my ability so others like me, till I came to thisquote in the movie Coach Carter few years ago, which brought my feelings andconcern in right words. Rather than shrinking oneself, one should shine brightand show the world what quality instills in him.

Now i ask myself what I haveachieved by lying low and what I could have if I didn’t; and the answer fromwithin comes that I did it wrongly!! I would have been more confident andsuccessful than today. Even after this realization I am not able to changemuch, still same fear haunts me, I still behave the same!!

I cannot conclude this becausethis fear, this feeling is still incomplete!!!

Procrastination is one of those topics that, it seems, I can’t write enough about. There isn’t a person who doesn’t procrastinate, and that’s a fact of life.

Its deep within everyone. I always think I am going to do something later, or learn playing guitar later, or learn French later. But we always overestimate how much we can do later, and we overestimate the ability of our later selves to beat procrastination.

Resting on the couch is thought of as nicer, right now, than going on a run. Reading blogs is easier, right now, than reading a classic novel. Checking email or Facebook is easier, now, than doing that project you’ve been putting off. Eating chocolate cake is tastier, right now, than eating veggies.

One of the most common problems is we know what we want to do and should do. But still we end up spending hours upon hours doing “easier” work or escaping via TV, blogs or music.

We often have a long list of things we plan to do, because we think we can do a lot in the future. The reality is usually a little worse than we expected, but that doesn’t stop us from thinking the future will be different yet again. For the same reason, we think it’s OK to procrastinate, because we’re going to do it later, for sure. Our future self will be incredibly productive and focused! Except, our future self is also lazy, and doesn’t do it either. Damn future self.

Procrastination is not just putting off work until a later time, but the act of starting work on a project at the latest possible time. When someone do this, they are living on the edge of abilities.

Sooooooo from today is to know where my capabilities end and spend as much time there as possible. Find myself a deadline and make friends with it.

Self Control!! Gotta do it!!!

Self Control is not a piece of cake after all. Been trying it for such a long time, but still can’t make it!!!

I am being so lame. I am doing unnecessary things and important things are lagging behind…much behind the plans.

Currently, two things are my priority : December exam and my office work. My Plan : to Wake up early and study for atleast an hour before leaving for office. Complete my work in the office without much hassle. In the evening, I return home on time and study. No watching TV or social networks.

But nothing is working as per the plan. I don’t wake up early, as a matter of fact I am waking late than before!!! Evenings are spent watching TV or doing unnecessary things. Due to absence of self restraint on such things, my studies and office is taking its toll.

As per definition, Self Control is the ability to control one's emotion, behaviour and desires. In psychology, it is sometimes called self-regulation.

So, one things for sure... should get disciplined in things i do, improve my punctuality and target things that will help me achieve my goals

As Michel de Montaigne has rightly said, "Not being able to govern events, I govern myself, and apply myself to them, if they will not apply themselves to me."

So to begin my life, i gaotta do what i have to do!!!

Treasure Hunt in Lavasa

One more Sunday trip, wokeup at 4.30 am, but it was worth it!!!

It was a treasure hunt organized by my office. We were supposed to meet in Dadar at 6 a.m., bus was waiting for us. We started our journey at 6.15 am picking others on the way.

Our journey : Mumbai-Pune Expressway Talegoan Toll Plaza to Chandini Chowk (33 KM) on the expressway, through the fly over bridge, from Chandini Chowk Toll Plaza we travelled along the same road and we reached LAVASA.

Though it was far from Mumbai, but the road was excellent and nice scenery - mountains and greenery always make the best view. It was also nice to play games and know people during the journey.

Before we reached the gates of Lavasa, we could see it from the hills and it looked beautiful!! Great architecture and greenery together, very nicely planned. And still lot of construction remaining...i hope the environment will be same and hopefully more beautiful even after all the buildings and other constuction comes up.

Sooooo after reaching Lavasa, we had a quick breakfast and rules were told to us... 4 groups of 13-15 members, no member should be far from his group more than 7 feet and other stuff.

We all started from the starting point and got scattered to our points. We were provided with a guide, map and a compass. Guides were supposed to give us a hint / puzzle indicating our next location and after solving the puzzle we were given a task to complete.

Point 1 : Lakeshore Watersports
Point 2 : Bungalow no. 101
Point 3 : Water tank
Point 4 : Building with some alphabets
Point 5 : Back to our starting point

While completing the treasure hunt, we felt like Roadies!! it was great.. the location made it more delightful. The lake, bridge, houses, everything was neat and pleasing. Like i mentioned before, construction was not complete and many buildings even if completed still were not used, but still it was a joy to see them. Climbing hills and again climbing down was so much fun.

Even after roaming the whole place for 3-4 hours, no one was tired (except during climbing wooden stairs making way between trees). It was a experience, i will never forget. The place, its enchanting beauty, view from any place we stood is just unforgettable or i should say worth remembering.

So after completing the treasure hunt, all of us had tea with bhel puri and again took off for our home

by bus.

I don't know what was more entertaining - the treasure hunt or the place. Maybe it was the mixture of both. It would not have been so much fun without Lavasa, i believe.

Fun at Awas Beach, Alibaug

It was two weeks back and i still miss the beach so much! Had such a great time with friends…ahhhhhhhh!!!

Sunday morning waking up at 5.30 am is just like not sleeping at all! But had to!!!

Soooooo……the trip started at 8.00 am from Gateway of India - 20 kms by Ferry (MALDAR was the name) & then by road…it was a 6-seater rickshaw and we were singing songs till we reached Awas.

In short, the route was: Gate Way of India - By Sea- Mandwa and then Mandwa -By Road- Awas Phatak – Awas

We stayed at a house of friend’s relative. They were very welcoming and kind. There we took some rest, had tea, changed clothes and ran for the beach… actually we walked to the beach!!!

The beach was flat and had 3 different types of sand and good. It was calm and no one else at the sight. Water was clear and beach very clean. The scenery is beautiful – trees and the beach is breathtaking.

We had breakfast on the beach and ran in the water as fast as we can. We played like small kids…playing with water, throwing sand on each other and then putting it on the face. Then settled down and had a good chat sitting in the water.

We were on the beach for more than 4 hours and there was no one to disturb us… what else we could ask for…. clean beach, good sand, clear and safe water and only us!! No vendors and no shops only a peaceful beach with calm water.

Only problem we faced was coming out of the water, but we had a ferry to catch. So after having a lot of thought and quality discussion we decided to leave the beach and go for lunch.

After taking a bath on the well, we had a delicious lunch… all of us ate as much we could. The food was fantabulous.

Soooooo………it was time to leave. We left the village again in the rickshaw for catching the ferry (This time it was PNP).

And we returned back to MUMBAI!!! Had a good sleep at night .... for next few days had a dark skin and sunburn ... soooooo will be going back sooonnnnnn!!!!

Kung Fu Panda (2008)

I love this movie!!! Saw it many many times and will also be watching it again and again.

At first, i should admit I had avoided this film like the plague for months as I thought that it was going to be absolutely rubbish because of its name, Jack Black and animal characters doing kung fu.

After my friend's recommendation, when i started watching it i cant stop myself from laughing, it became my favorite animated movie (previously Ratatouille (2007)). Even after watching this movie soooo many times i cant resist laughing, the facial expressions and dialogues are impeccable.

Some of the dialogues i am mentioning have really impressed me, and many of them i had also kept as my Facebook status

This is a cute animated comedy that also inspires lessons in life. The audience can relate to people who have dreams of doing the impossible, just as Po. Po ultimately learns that if he believes in himself, he can do anything. Even fight Tai Lung, whom furious five also cant defeat!!

So, if u have not watched this film yet, please watch and if u had, no problem in watching it again i believe ;)

Knowing (2009)

Hello Everyone,

Post is not about the story or review of the movie but only my experience while watching this movie.

Started watching this movie at 12.15 am, in the dark with earphones and its recommended to watch in same manner as it will add to the effect!!

Plot of the movie is awesome, the start of the movie gives the feeling that is is going to be a thrilling time watching this movie. Idea of ‘Whisperers’ is fantastic, it adds spice to the movie.

I even got scared at a time when they came out of the woods because at he same time my brother came out in the dark asking for time and suggesting i should be sleeping
Just a suggestion, kindly dont try to find much logic in the movie and take as it comes or else you might get bored and might even not watch the full movie

Farmville

Hello Everyone,
Had leave yesterday, so got lot of leisure time with me and i spent all my time today playing games, first on Video games like Mortal Combat 3 and TMNT & then on facebook stuff Mafia Wars and Farmville.
I kinda love farmville, because its so simple and nonviolent types. Today there were new items to decorate the farm…Carnival stuff, purchased all decorations and buildings i could and renovated my farm

Hello Everyone,
This is my first post on a blog. And i really hope i update it regularly with interesting topics because i have habit of leaving things when my interest decreases. Got lot of examples for it, so many times i started writing a diary but after few days my interest just vanishes, even gym, and i really hate myself for it. Actually, have decided to start both from Monday regularly and i am damn serious about it this time. WISH ME LUCK.
So, idea of starting a blog site was given by my Facebook and Orkut friend Sourish Karmakar, who is actually having a great blog (http://lakeofmydreams.blogspot.com) and write good articles. Therefore incase u have any grievances you know where to go -_o
